Internal Communications Senior Advisor - Glasgow, United Kingdom - Pinsent Masons
Description
INTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS SENIOR ADVISOR- LONDON
Role Overview
Essentially, it's our job to help colleagues understand the size, scale, and strengths of the business, and experience its unique culture.
We do that by using the power of communications to connect them with each other, with leadership and with our purpose-led strategy.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- take a brief from senior leadership on a confidential and business critical management topic.
- confer with the team, feeding back on your projects and listening to their ideas.
- turn a signed-off project brief into a problem statement with recommended messaging, suggested actions and immediate next steps.
- set up a meeting with stakeholders to listen to and reflect on their feedback to a campaign plan you've previously circulated.
- proofread a document for a team member who's running out of time against a looming deadline.
- feed back to the consultancy we partner with on the campaign plan for a large and complex campaign we're working on together.
- scan Yammer for good stories. What can we elevate from a specialist team to the 'all firm' channel to enthuse, inspire and engage?
- share with the rest of the team the challenge a Business Operations colleague has come to you with, swapping ideas so you can go back with a plan for them to create their own content and make use of our existing channels.
- pick up the phone to the head of our Diversity and Inclusion network. It's time to plan our approach to Purple Light Up day.
- create a simple GIF to make colleagues smile about month end billing. It's a serious topic but we need to make it fun and get people talking.
- run through your slide deck one last time. Tomorrow you and your manager are presenting to the Operations Committee on the results of our most recent communications audit.
- dash out a draft announcement about a new partner hire. These are pretty routine - you can do them with your eyes closed - but you know how important they are in helping new colleagues to establish themselves in our business.
- write up an interview for Everyday Heroes, our compendium of purpose-led success stories to help colleagues understand the breadth and strength of our expertise.
- co-ordinate diaries for the monthly editorial meeting with the Senior Partner.
Relevant Experience:
- A minimum of three years into an internal communications career
- Enthusiastic, creative and full of ideas
- Curious about business
- Able to listen and really hear
- Confident in being honest about what they don't know or understand
- Adaptable and responsive to moving deadlines
- Completely undaunted by last minute changes of plan
- You'll need to be able to express yourself very clearly orally and in writing
- It would be great if you have a flair for visualising how we can explain tricky concepts in pictures or diagrams, but it's not essential
- It would be great if you could also speak one or more of French, German, Arabic or Mandarin, but it's not essential.
