About the role
Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a
MOTOR CLAIMS HANDLER to join our Enabling Functions team to work in
Derby.
Role Purpose:
The Claims Handler will deal with all types of claims within their region, ensuring costs are contained and processes and procedures are adhered to.
What you'll be doing
As a
MOTOR CLAIMS HANDLER you will have the following:
Key Accountabilities:
- Responsible for ensuring the effective management of motor claims for BB (UK)
Key Responsibilities:
- Handling of all types of new claims including First Notification of Loss (FNOL);
- Investigate claims to establish whether liability attaches;
- Assess value of claims;
- Prepare claims documentation for payment;
- Prepare claims documentation for recovery and oversee proactive recovery of costs in conjunction with BB appointed ULR provider
- Liaise and negotiate as appropriate with Balfour Beatty SBU external suppliers (Solicitors, Insurers, Brokers Loss Adjusters);
- Accurately maintain the BB Motor Insurance Database record;
- Document storage and file management;
- Manage data on various computer systems;
- Coordinate activities with HSEQ adhering to company procedures and taking a proactive approach to accident prevention;
- Provide support to admin function and training to less experienced staff;
Who we're looking for
You will have the following qualities and experience:
Essential:
- IT literate (Word and Excel)
- Must have experience of handling of all types of claims
- Knowledge of the principles of insurance
- Knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules
Desirable:

- CII (Chartered Insurance Institute) Qualification, working towards or willing to work towards
