Hours:
Minimum 40Hr per week ( Monday to Friday )


BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF JOB PURPOSE:


To call regularly on designated customer outlets to sell the Company's products within the geographic boundaries of the assigned territory.

To ensure the Company's principle products achieve the most prominent display areas and maximum number of facings and to meet set sales targets and goals.

Experience:

At least 2 years experience within a retail sales/target driven environment

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS ROLE:
1.
Sales

  • Sell the Company's products to all customers within set geographic boundaries
  • Ensure the maximum number of product lines are sold
  • Focus on products with higher profit margins
2.
Sales procedures

  • Follow Company sales procedures during sales calls
  • Ensure customers are not overstocked or understocked
3.
Sales opportunities

  • Maximise sales opportunities during special promotions
  • Support opportunities with point of sale material
4.
Sales targets

  • Ensure Quarterly sales targets, new account targets and key product targets are achieved

MAIN ACTIVITIES OF THIS ROLE:
1.
Products

  • Ensure Company products have optimum shelf positions
  • Ensure maximum number of facings and percentage share of shelf space
2.
Stock

  • Make sure there is sufficient stock available to have a maximum display of products
  • Prevent the competitors from taking over the Company's percentage share of shelf space
  • Regularly inspect the condition of products, ensuring they are clean, undamaged and within their shelflife
  • Ensure correct stock rotation
3.
Support

  • Provide onthejob support, guidance and training to merchandisers employed by the Company
  • Provide on the job support, guidance and training to instore staff employed by the customer
  • Ensure merchandisers meet the customers and the Company's requirements
  • Maintain good relations between instore staff and the Company
  • Ensure merchandisers have sufficient product training
  • Make sure merchandisers have full knowledge of promotions to maximise their effect
  • Communicate orders to order processing timeously
  • Assist customers with delivery difficulties
  • Collect all outstanding debts
  • Process monies allocated on a daily basis
4.
Equipment and material

  • Use all display equipment and material
  • Ensure display areas are prepared
  • Place equipment in most appropriate areas
5.
Call on customers

  • Call on all customers according to approved call cycle
  • Identify new distribution opportunities
  • Increase the number of active accounts
6.
Record-keeping

  • Maintain a reliable, uptodate customer record system as per the Sales Procedure Manual
  • Maintain records of new customers, deleted of customers and changes to call cycles to ensure cost effective coverage of the territory
7.
Reporting

  • Report to the Sales manager on matters such as:
  • Trends
- facing reports

  • Customers reaction and complaints
- strike reports

  • Competitor activity
  • Trade complaints
  • Consumer complaints
  • Attend sales meetings
  • Make reports available at the request of the sales manager
