Working within the integrated care teams, the podiatry service plays a keep role in maintaining foot health and keeping people mobile.
As a podiatrist within the team, you will be responsible for ensuring excellent patient care to improve foot health and prevent risks.
Providing holistic assessments, you will look at the patient, as a whole, directing them to other services to include nursing, the falls team, social care and safeguarding.
As part of the foot protection team, you will follow NICE guidance to ensure effective care and referrals of those with diabetes.
The service has a well-established multi-disciplinary diabetes foot clinic to include vascular and orthopaedic consultants, a diabetologist, microbiologists, radiologists and plaster technicians.
Having excellent links with vascular consultants in place already, the team is looking to improve the community vascular service.The team are involved in the Northwest Clinical effectiveness groups and encourage shared learning, reflective practice and continual professional development.
Multi chaired clinics allow support from a small friendly team and the post offers preceptorship for those who are newly qualified.
