Description

Murton Park is looking for a Full Time Living History Team Leader
To deliver the education programme with Murton Park guidelines and assist the events team at other times. To run teams for both onsite and outreach sessions. To develop and futureproof the education programme for the site.

The role

To follow education guidelines set out by Murton Park
To be confident in giving talks and teaching others about life in a historical period
To research the time period and characters using historical records, books, letters and other factual sources
To recreate daily life in a historical setting
To assist events, marketing, admin and front of house where necessary
To work on site or in school where needed
To be able to work alone or in a team where needed
To oversee day to day management of the living history team and programme
To liaise with other departments for the benefit of the whole site
Report regularly on results and future plans
To be available for monthly management meetings on request
To ensure all staff and programmes are compliant with up to date guidelines in all areas.
To coordinate and report on maintenance and upkeep of all education areas and make sure they are kept in a manner fit for the public
Any other duties that may be deemed necessary to effectively carry out your role

The person

Full Driving Licence required
Willingness to work in schools / off site
Excellent communication skills
Experience managing a team would be desirable
Has interest and knowledge in a wide range of historical periods
Uphold staff / site policies where required
A team player with a cando attitude

Rate of pay £24k per annum based on 37.5hrs per week. Monday - Friday with occasional weekend work required.

£24,000.00 per year
