The Learning Support Assistant:


For this Learning Support Assistant position, you must be a Level 3 Learning Support Assistant with experience working with KS3 and KS4 children.

You should have a bright personality and a willingness to engage with all pupils, and a passion to assist studentswith overcoming their barriers to education.

It is important that you are a Learning Support Assistant with excellent behaviour management skills and a clear understanding of a range of SEMH needs and SEN, so you can provide effective support for the pupilsyou are working with.


The Learning Support Assistant Role:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will be supporting teachers with delivering dynamic lessons.

You will assist students who are struggling with work and support the teachers with managing classroom behaviours, which are often challenging.

You will also workalongside the pastoral team to ensure wellbeing is maintained.

You will also work with pupils with SEMH issues and/or SEN on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, assisting with learning and wellbeing support.


The School:
The school is based in the South Birmingham district of Northfield, and caters for pupils of all ages. This Learning Support Assistant role is to support secondary students with SEN, SEMH needs and lower ability. There is great support for all staff and youwill receive access to high quality facilities and resources.
