Applications are invited for enthusiastic, motivated and committed individual to join our friendly and dynamic teams within the Oncology departments at Ipswich & Colchester Hospital's, part of the East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust.
These posts are for 12 month fixed term from 2nd Aug 2023 to 6th of Aug 2024Full GMC required
- Multidisciplinary team working is a key component of the working in the department.
- To prescribe chemotherapy and manage treatment related complications
- New patient assessment/ Ward visits/ Acute Oncology Service support
- To provide Medical cover to the Chemotherapy Day Unit
- To provide cover for chemotherapy review clinics when required
- Radiotherapy reviews (and planning if suitably qualified)
- Ward rounds/supporting the junior staff with inpatient care
- Undergraduate/Postgraduate/Nursing teaching
- Participation in clinical trial
- In addition to the above the postholder will be expected to attend the relevant MDTs within the area of interest that he develops, support the research team in clinical trial accrual, and take an active part in Junior Doctor and Medical Student teaching.
- Although this post is not required to take part in an oncall rota the postholder should be prepared to perform duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances.
