Description

Our Macmillan Cancer Support team are looking for highly motivated and committed volunteers who would assist and support people with cancer (their family/friends) when they attend the Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Service centres at both the hospital sites.

You will be answering basic queries and providing information (especially the Macmillan Information booklets).

  • Responding to service user queries (note, some of these are nothing to do with the MCISS and you will be directing people to locations in the hospitals)
  • Providing basic level information in response to these queries
  • If the needs of the service user are more complex then you will make appointments for them with either the MCISS Manager or Assistant
  • You will collate data on the numbers of services users, the type of queries they have and how you supported these.
  • Making sure the displays are engaging / eyecatching and relevant this will be done in conjunction with the MCISS Manager or Assistant but your ideas will be appreciated.
