1 x Floating Neighbourhood Housing Officer - 6 month Fixed term contract
We are currently recruiting for Neighbourhood Housing Officers to join our successful Neighbourhoods Housing Team on short term contracts to help deliver the best housing services in Tower Hamlets.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Managing your patch to an exceptionally high standard engaging with and involving residents in the management of their Neighbourhood through regular estate inspections.
- Proactively dealing with all potential hazards and Fire Risk Assessment actions.
- Ensuring the speedy lettings of property in line with targets
- Supporting and sustaining tenancies to prevent homelessness through the provision of general tenancy support to residents to help sustain their tenancy.
- Taking action concerning breach of tenancy, removal of squatters, unauthorised occupants, authorising successions, assignments including attending Court to give evidence.
- Dealing sympathetically and effectively with clients, often in stressful circumstances, by telephone, office interview, home visit and when representing the Council in court.
We are looking for individuals with experience of:
- Working in the social housing sector
- Leasehold and tenancy management
- Tenancy support to prevent homelessness
- Engaging with residents through regular estate inspections
- Taking action against breach of tenancy, including removal of squatters
- Responding to issues of nuisance and antisocial behaviour
- Using Northgate (SX3) and Contact manager IT systems
In March 2023, THH will be relocating their offices to the new Town Hall site on Whitechapel Road E1 1BB.
The building is served by 4 different train and tube lines including the Elizabeth line, along with well used bus and cycle routes.
