Owned by the Italian Frandino Group and originally founded in the 1950s as a fruit distillery,
Sedamyl has grown to become one of Europe's leading manufacturers of wheat derivatives such as starches, sweeteners, proteins and alcohol for major food and industrial sectors worldwide.

In 2012 the group expanded its international presence by opening a plant in Selby, UK.


What We Do

Sedamyl UK, uses Yorkshire-grown wheat in its production, which is purchased from a network in excess of 1,000 local farmers, so providing a valuable and sustained revenue stream. The announcement in 2021 to invest a further £80m in expanding both its distilling and liquid sweetener production, significantly boosts an already growing workforce to around 150 employees, creating in excess of 75 new jobs for the area.


What we are looking for
We are looking for a Stores person to join our busy stores department.

In the is role you will assist with managing all deliveries and receipt of goods into stores, issues parts as requested, inventory control activities including stock taking.


Key activities and Responsibilities

  • Intake and unload parts with suitable equipment
  • Check parts delivered against the delivery note
  • Check the delivery note against the purchase order and book the PARTS* into the system
  • Store/relocate parts on site
  • Book out parts used into the system
  • Request to Re-Order/Order parts used by the members of staff
  • Keep stock/levels of parts
  • Package/book transport/prepare paperwork on the system/load with suitable equipment PARTS* to be sent off site
  • Clean/tidy/maintain control of the areas of competence following waste management and segregation instructions
  • Collect parts from local suppliers as requested
  • Assist in regular stock taking, managing stock, and reducing the risk of stock loss
  • Ensuring the site and stores are kept tidy and organised
  • Assist in the implementation of the new stores and spare parts system
  • Assist with associated duties within a busy production site
  • Undertake other duties as reasonably requested

Skills and Requirements:


  • Applicants must be aware that this is a physical position with lots of bending, stretching, kneeling, and lifting
  • Previous experience in store person role or similar role
  • Comfortable working outside in all elements of weather
  • Be able to prioritise, organise and manage tasks
  • Good observational skills with a good eye for detail
  • Effect written and verbal communications skills
  • Computer literate (use of SAP)
  • Forklift truck licence (training can be provided)
  • Full clean driving licence
  • Telehandler licence (training can be provided)
  • Ability to work as part of a team, with a positive approach, flexible and adaptable to changes/challenges
