Job description:


Working alongside senior colleagues, the Head of IT Service Transition and Change will have leadership responsibility for the Service Transition and Change and Config areas.


The role will require the individual to actively ensure complex solutions are successfully transitioned from Design to Operational usage, working closely with and coordinating activities across projects, with various stakeholders across the Agency and working with suppliers.


Leading the Service Transition, Change and Config teams within Service Operations autonomously, seeking and encouraging improvement throughout the service as well as guiding others inside and outside the team of expertise in the field of IT Service Transition and Change.

As the owner of the processes, you will ensure successful delivery of beneficial changes with minimum disruption to IT services.

This role will be based in the Southampton HQ.

MCA supports flexible working and operates a hybrid working model between home and office for this role, giving you greater flexibility over where and when you work.

Details of the arrangement will be discussed further with your line manager.


Responsibilities

Key accountabilities of the role include:

  • Working closely with Senior IT colleagues to engage the IT Departments technical experts and other relevant stakeholders to work collaboratively on internal IT projects and deployments.
  • Accountable for the Line Management of Service Transition and Change and Config teams.
  • Drives and ensures a continual service improvement approach across Service Transition and Change and Config areas.
  • Supervises all aspects of Release and Deployment of Change to ensure positive introduction of new services are expertly delivered into early life.
  • Responsible for the design, implementation and adherence of all function policies, processes and procedures required to optimally transition from Design into Operations.
  • Participates in and leads collaboration with Key Stakeholders across the organisation to ensure the needs of the Agency's internal customers and end users are satisfied.

Person specification:


We are looking for a pro-active and motivated leader with excellent people management skills and experience of working within Service Transition and Change and Config environments.

You will have experience of risk management and working with a variety of project methodologies.


You are proficient at translating information from a range of sources to present recommendations with clarity and certainty to senior colleagues.

You are a confident person who enjoys building solid working relationships at all levels.

In addition, you thrive delivering in a fast-paced environment, encouraging others to perform to a high standard.


Qualifications:


  • You must hold an ITIL qualification or equivalent qualification from an IT framework
