Description

The Services Pre-Sales Associate is responsible for the pre-sales support, service definition, and enabling Sales team engagements covering the design, deployment, and support of IT and Communications solutions to meet the requirements of both external and internal customers regardless of the technologies within the solution.

The role is not required to have detailed technical knowledge but any foundational understanding across one or more of the following technologies would be desirable with a passion to develop a holistic technical understanding; (cloud, campus networking - LAN/WAN/WLAN, server infrastructure, virtualisation) as well as experience working with/for a professional and managed service provider (Service Management, Service Delivery).


Main duties of the role:


  • Supporting sales activities in a technical presales capacity on behalf of the Services unit, for Sales enablement and in customer engagements, meetings and opportunity qualification.
  • Identifying opportunities for and developing relationships with third party suppliers to establish service offerings and draw on specialist pre and post sales capabilities to support Ci sales activities.
  • Cost modelling for professional and managed services.

Key activities:


  • Provide presales support to define integrated technical solutions in line with customer requirements. Produce, or assist in the production, of highlevel designs and the technical input to proposals.
  • Assess the customer's stated requirements, identify, or assist in defining strategies for addressing those requirements as well as opportunities for "value add", and translate these into robust and achievable solution design that meets the customer's needs.
  • Where required, take on a solution lead role for smaller opportunities, taking ownership and ensuring that individual technical design elements and solutions integrate seamlessly to deliver an endtoend response to customer requirements. This may require coordination of design input from internal teams, partners and 3rd parties in addition to directly producing designs/solution content.
  • Ensure solution designs include definition of cost of delivery of the services or technical elements identified, so as to enable accurate pricing of the proposal to the customer.
  • Produce and maintain standard templates for design, build, and testing services.
  • Lead or assist in the production of solution papers, business cases and risk assessments for shared infrastructure and internal IT projects.

Essential

  • Experience working with/for a Managed Service Provider
  • Technically orientated mindset with a desire to learn new technologies
  • Face to face meeting confidence & any experience presenting to internal stakeholders as well as clients
  • Strong written communication skills capable of formal proposal writing
  • Driven personality with the ability to adapt to the diverse challenges the role will present

Desirable
You can demonstrate technical awareness or experience of designing or supporting:

  • Microsoft Azure
  • Disaster Recovery software solutions
  • Server & SAN Technologies
  • Virtualisation, particularly VMware or Hyper-V
  • Operating Systems and Applications, particularly modern Microsoft servers and workspace technologies
  • Network Technologies: LAN/WLAN/WAN. Preferably Aruba
