Description
We have a dedicated High Dependency team of Midwives who have undergone specialist training. Midwives on the Labour Ward have opportunities to develop their skills as a part of a cohesive multidisciplinary team. We have a 12 bedded antenatal ward which also caters for induction of labour.

Offering inpatient and outpatient induction of labour dependant on the individual womans risk factors, we have streamlined our service to include offering women balloon catheter induction.


We have Antenatal Clinics across both Poole and Bournemouth and on the Poole site we have an Antenatal Day Assessment Unit.

We have a 16 bedded Postnatal Ward offering traditional postnatal care to women and their babies.

We also have an 8 bedded Transitional Care Ward, which provides additional support to more vulnerable babies and provides an outreach service to the Labour Ward.
