The Harris Girls' Academy East Dulwich is a secondary school and sixth form with academy status, located in the East Dulwich area of the London Borough of Southwark.

The school is part of the Harris Federation which delivers high quality education to thepupils they serve.


This is an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice to join a friendly welcoming team, to help support the administrative needs of the school.


What it's like being a Business Administrator


Under the instruction and guidance of your mentor, you'll be responsible for providing general reprographics assistance for all staff, assist with pupil welfare duties, liaise with parents and staff, and undertake reception duties where required.


Some of following core activities include:

  • Carry out print finishing to any previously printed matter including laminating, comb binding, coil binding, scoring, folding, saddle stapling and guillotining
  • Assist staff with any issues they may have within the print/copying element of their teaching/admin roles
  • Maintain 'Equitrack' records of all photocopier usage within the academy and provide a monthly analysis of all copies produced
  • To assist with distribution of internal and external post
  • Assist the academy in maintaining good relationships with staff, parents, governors, contractors, representatives and external agencies
  • Promote academy news through Twitter
  • Manage on sight photography such as Year 7 Induction Day and GCSE results day

So how does the apprenticeship work?
Over 15 months, you'll devote a minimum of 6 hours of your working week on 'off the job' training. Together this will count towards a Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship.

You'll be trained by an expert tutor from Tiro as well as an experiencedmentor at Harris Girls Academy who together, will make sure you develop the knowledge, skills, and work habits you'll need to succeed in your career.

In this role you'll receive:

  • Starting salary is National Minimum wagesee below (please note this is a fulltime role, with holiday expected to be taken during school holidays)
23+ Rate - £10.42

21-22-Year-Old Rate - £10.18

18-20-Year-Old Rate - £7.4- 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
