Job overview:

We have an exciting opportunity for a B5 Speech and Language Therapist to join our well-established and friendly team. You'll be passionate about working with children and families.

You'll be keen to progress in our busy, pro-active environment where we offer opportunities to develop clinical skills and to get involved with service development from an early stage in your career.

We offer frequent management supervision, regular team meetings and robust specialist clinical support. Our active B5 peer support group meet regularly. Evidence-based practice is embedded and CPD is actively encouraged.

We work across schools, clinics and children's centres together with education and nursery staff, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Specialist Teachers, carers and families.

We work with multi-lingual families together with bi-lingual assistants and interpreters. If you have are positive, enthusiastic and keen to develop your skills then we are keen to hear from you

Main duties of the job:


  • Take your place with us providing specialist triage, assessment, differential diagnosis, treatment and discharge recommendations to a range of children and young people with speech, language and communication needs.
  • You will assess, treat and review children in facetoface and video appointments.
  • You will have excellent interpersonal skills to be able to communicate effectively with children and families, other team members and health and education staff.
  • You will have excellent organisation and prioritisation skills.
  • You will work in clinics, education settings, children's centres and family homes.
  • You will drive continuous improvement with your innovation and passion for developing new ways of working.
  • You will have strong presentation skills and enjoy delivering training to the wider children's workforce about a range of communication difficulties, including developing, evaluating and adapting training packages.

Essential criteria:


  • Recognised Speech and Language Therapy Degree Qualification or equivalent
  • Health Professions Council-Licence to Practice
  • Registered Member of Royal College of Speech and Language Therapist

Experience:

  • Relevant experience at undergraduate level

Knowledge:


Essential criteria:


  • Knowledge of assessment tools relevant to the client group
  • Knowledge of a range of appropriate therapeutic interventions (relevant to the client group)
