£40,000 - £50,000 (Depending on experience)
Monday - Friday
I'm currently recruiting for an experienced Transport Commercial Manager to join a large blue chip family run business who specialise within general haulage operations throughout the UK.
They are seeking a Transport Commercial Manager to support the current senior leadership team in generating new business, customer management and operator license compliance.
- CPC Qualified (National)
- Previous Commercial & operational experience within a transport or road haulage operation
- Business Development experience within a logistics / transport operation
- Must have Transport Management experience within a large fleet
- Previous experience of being on a Operators License
- Proven experience within a key account manager / commercial role, preferably within a general haulage / 3PL transport operation
- 3PL warehousing experience is highly desirable
- An understanding of Transport optimisation & route planning modelling
- Transport Customer Service experience
- Previous experience within a fast paced transport office
- Strong administrative skills
- Ability to identify mistakes and correct them
- Selflearner, the ability to continually learn, develop and adapt
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
- Competent decision making
- Proactive approach and problem solver
Duties and Responsibilities;
- Work alongside the Director of Transport to enhance customer relationships and increasing revenue opportunities
- Identify, develop and secure new business opportunities with existing and potential customers
- Develop SLA's, KPI's and Service reporting to support commercial account management.
- To listen to the voice of the customer developing plans in conjunction with the Senior Ops Team to deliver the customers contractual and stated needs. To actively seek opportunities to add value to the customers business developing short, medium
- To develop in conjunction with the Operations & Commercial Teams an account plan outlining key relationships and how they will be positively developed, actions required to support contract renewal and enhance the services already provided.
- Deliver excellent customer service effectively dealing with account and customer queries
- Provide support to the Transport team on customer opportunities, revenue and throughput on a regular basis
- Actively create opportunities to grow the operations and increase the revenue streams within Transport
- Resolve customer issues and complaints, ensuring critical KPI's are met
- Provide accurate management information, statistics and reports as required
- Ensure full compliance with regards to EU drivers' hours, including ensuring the WTD is adhered to
- Ensure full driver compliance with regards to H&S, this includes ensuring drivers are fully trained and suitably qualified for the tasks carried out
- Monitor and ensure vehicles are fit for purpose this includes ensuring vehicles are in compliance with all safety requirements as per our operating licence
- Provide accurate management information, statistics and reports as required
- Develop positive working relationships with other departments so that the departments can work as efficiently as possible
