Description
To organise, cook and prepare a healthy balanced diet for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years. To monitor stock levels and stock rotation and inform the Manager/Deputy of items which need replenishing. To be responsible in conjunction with the Manager/Deputy for planning menus. To prepare mid-morning snack and wash crockery. To co-ordinate the serving of the mid-day meal. To wash the crockery and cutlery. To be aware of sections 7 and 8 of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. To complete daily, the Safer Food Better Business (SFBB) for caterers booklet. To complete the healthy foods register daily.


To complete the following checklists:
hot food temperature, fridge temperature, freezer temperature, expiry date on consumables, lunch cleaning and monthly kitchen cleaning. To ensure all dietary requirements are met and suitable alternatives are offered.

To attend and pass relevant food hygiene and health and safety courses in accordance with health and safety legal regulations.

Nursery cook MUST NOT wear jewellery that could present a risk of contamination.


Job Types:
Part-time, Permanent

Part-time hours: 17.5 per week


Salary:
Up to £10.42 per hour

Experience:
