General Factory Assistant

Opportunity for career building progression within factory environment.

Starting rate £10.50 per hour based on 48 hour working week (4 x 12hr shifts)_

Day & Night shift patterns in operation Full time, permanent positions_


A great opportunity to join our team as a factory assistant and receive full in house on the job training to learn the industry and learn various operational processes.

You will have the possibility to learn all aspects within our manufacturing business, assist in the running of machinery, how to set up parts of the equipment, monitor operations, inspect completed products, general factory work, H&S monitoring.

Alongside this there is large potential to grow within this role with various future role promotions possible. Join a pioneering UK business, leading the way in Eco friendly packaging production.

Responsibilities:
Factory Assistant

  • Learning the industry requirements
  • Be cooperative, respond to and follow instructions, embracing any other reasonable duties as allocated/instructed by the Company Management.
  • Maintain high levels of Health and Safety awareness & report any areas of concern to your Line Manager immediately.
  • Be accountable, take ownership and accept responsibility for your work and take pride in everything you do.
  • Working on and monitoring the output against set

Learn the manufacturing process, involving senior members of the team if/when you are not able to correct any problem.

  • Monitor and check the product quality as all staff are responsible for identifying when the process is deviating from the norm.
  • Maintain accurate and clear documentation that proves that manufacturing is being carried out in accordance with both internal and external ISO quality systems when required.
  • Keep equipment in good working order by performing regular inspections.

Skills / Abilities:


  • Wanting to learn the manufacturing business.
  • Driven and passionate
  • Good eye for detail and quality driven
  • Team player, able and willing to assist other members of the team.
  • Able to maintain good disciplines, standards and initiative.
  • Able to ensure that all documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Desire to lead a team to get the best performance out of each shift.
