My client, based near Newbury, is a busy, entrepreneurial entity in the construction sector. They are looking to recruit a qualified accountant for this Financial Controller (Number 2 in finance) role.

With a focus on managing the team, delivering the reporting, and producing the end-to-end accounts, this is a hands-on role and will be ideal for somebody who enjoys the SME environment

Duties include:

Providing budgets and forecasts
Management accounts with commentary
Month end reporting
Working with the external audit providers
Manage the team (c6) junior members of staff
Working to improve processes and implement new procedures
Own the financial reporting system

The role will be ideal for an individual who has worked in a complex, busy SME and is comfortable with a hands-on approach.

That said, the role also includes a good deal of interaction with non-finance managers and as such, you will have excellent relationshipmanagement and liaison skills.

You will have managed a team and been responsible for all aspects of finance in a similar environment. This is an excellent role in a growing company. The organisation practices a hybrid working model.
