We are looking for a Head of Facilities to lead and manage the facilities and property services across the South Thames Colleges Group.


Working with the Director of Facilities, you will have lead responsibility for the development, use and management of facilities and property across the estate to ensure the provision of consistent and high-quality services to students, staff and other stakeholders.


Overseeing three Facilities Managers, you will have overall responsibility for all "hard" services including M&E plant maintenance and related contracts, asset management buildings and facilities and planned property maintenance.

You will also have overall responsibility for the delivery of all "soft" facilities including post room, catering/vending, cleaning, security, meeting rooms and events management.

You will regularly self-assess the provision of facilities services, to monitor the effectiveness and efficiency of the service and seek to continuously improve the facilities available to students and staff, to support high standards of achievement.


We ask that our Head of Facilities holds a recognised Facilities Management or Building related qualification and has significant experience of managing a wide ranging building facilities function at senior level, including the management of a staff team.

With highly developed communication, interpersonal and prioritisation skills, you will have extensive building project management experience including working with a professional team and capital project funders, and have evidence of sound financial management of both revenue and capital budgets.


A recognised Health & Safety qualification is desirable, as is detailed knowledge / experience of applicable Health & Safety legislation.
