Summary

My high-profile utilities client is looking for a Communications manager who will be responsible for developing the ET IT messaging and communication strategy.

They will oversee the development of brand collateral to develop internal and external (within BU)communications and marketing strategies and will liaise with other Departments to help the brand gain exposure.

They will drive all the internal and external communications for ET IT, ensuring its message is consistent and engaging.
Key Accountabilities
Employee Experience, enhancing employee engagement and ways of working, empowering employees and supporting their health and wellbeing (L5).

  • Implements working practices that motivate employees and support their health and wellbeing.
  • Provides guidance to individuals on longterm development goals and career opportunities, considering an individual's strengths and preferences.
  • Communicates business direction, policy and purpose where these may drive or affect employee engagement.
  • Ensures clear communication of delegated tasks and provides sufficient autonomy to motivate and empower individuals.
Stakeholder Relationship Management, Influencing stakeholder attitudes, decisions, and actions for mutual benefit (L4).

  • Deals with problems and issues, managing resolutions, corrective actions, lessons learned, and the collection and dissemination of relevant information.
  • Implements stakeholder engagement/communications plan.
  • Collects and uses feedback from customers and stakeholders to help measure the effectiveness of stakeholder management.
  • Helps develop and enhance customer and stakeholder relationships.
  • Facilitates open communication and discussion between stakeholders.
  • Acts as a point of contact by developing, maintaining, and working to stakeholder engagement strategies and plans.
Content Authoring, Planning, designing and creating textual information, supported where necessary by graphical content (L4).

  • Designs the content and appearance of complex information deliverables.
  • Controls, monitors, and evaluates content to ensure quality, consistency and accessibility of messages and optimal use of chosen media.
  • Understands and manages risks associated with publishing content.
  • Moderates content and ensures content can be repurposed appropriately.
Content Publishing, Managing and continually improving the processes that collect, assemble and publish content (L4).

  • Maintains and updates content management processes to meet the needs of users.
  • Selects appropriate channels through which content should be published. Provides advice to users and content authors to leverage the features of the relevant channels and tools used.
Identifies the legal implications associated with publishing

Knowledge, experience, and technical know-how:

  • Can successfully operate at 'D' level and can interact with "C" and "B" Level roles, forming strong relationships and engagement as needed across all levels of the Business Entity
  • Has good relationship, communication and presentation skills combined with a good track record of developing IT Programmes/business change.
  • Experience of IT strategic, investment and programme planning ensuring alignment with business strategy and priorities.
  • A good understanding of the business area within which they will operate.
  • An understanding of technology best practices and trends.
  • Experience of working within a matrixed organisation.
