8am-4:30pm (Monday to Thursday)
8am - 3pm (Friday)
Start in 2023
Reporting into the Product Supervisor, primary responsibility for this role rests with operating a wide variety of machine tools and skills to create set ups on grinders, lathes and other complex machinery.
- Operates and maintains lathe and milling machines.
- Reviews drawings, instructions, blueprints or samples to ensure accurate production.
- Takes precise measurements for cutting or shaping.
- Selects appropriate machine and settings for a given task.
- Plans proper sequence of tasks to complete the assignment.
- Monitors production, adjusting feed and other settings as necessary.
- Maintains inventory of completed products.
- Checks output for quality assurance and documents or discards defects.
- Identifies need for and performs machine maintenance and minor repairs.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed
- Trouble shoot and maintain equipment in accordance with relevant Preventive Maintenance documentation
- Report any unresolved issues to Production Lead/Supervisor
- Ensure the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment is used at all times
- Ensure that the housekeeping in the areas under the Production lead control is maintained to the highest standard
- Participate in developing the manufacturing units' activities e.g., working practices, equipment specifications, improvements in productivity and quality
- Carrying out any other reasonable duties that may be requested from time to time Education and Experience
- Experience of working in a manufacturing environment desirable
- Experience working with machine tools or mechanical assembly
- Working knowledge of safety protocols
- Apprenticeship or vocational Machinist training required
- Lathe machining experience, desirable
- Welding experience desirable 4. Competencies

Salary:
From £10.50 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Retford, Nottinghamshire: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Education:
- GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
