Strategic Account Executive

Do you have a strong track record in a high performing outcome-based (or sales based) environment?

Do you have experience of identifying and achieving portfolio growth and achieving targets?

Have you got experience in New Connections, Forecasting and Managing the metering and supply of some of the UK's largest infrastructure projects?

If so, come and join EDF as a Strategic Account Executive, sitting in the Technical Sales team where you will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities, whilst attaining value growth from existing accounts

The Opportunity
Your primary objective in this role is to meet and exceed stretching sales targets.

You'll need to be independent, results driven, with the ability to effectively disrupt and influence customers' thinking and build consensus for EDF products and services.

What you'll be doing


You'll be working along side some of the UK's largest construction companies helping support their net zero journey and provide support with metering and supply to numerous sites around the country.


You will be an energy expert, able to discuss contractual terms, industry regulation and market developments that could impact your portfolio.

The role involves developing multi-level relationships within high profile customer organisations and working with internal support functions, to influence customers' thinking up to board level.


You'll be required to understand the full scope of EDF's products and propositions, including the end to end metering process and be able to present a compelling case to their client in order to fully realise efficiencies and build an effective partnership.


Who you are


As a Strategic Account Executive, you will have the ability to engage customers and Channel Partners by linking their business priorities to EDF's products and services; tailor communication to the customer's needs with authority; effectively create and deliver presentations, facilitate discussions and possess strong communication skills.

You'll have established experience in the proactive development of a customer portfolio to maximise business opportunities and value. Ultimately responsible for all aspects of the end-to-end processes associated with their portfolio.


Skills and Qualifications

  • Ability to drive twoway communication; engage customers and TPIs by linking their business priorities to EDF's products and services; tailor communication to the customer's needs with authority; effectively create and deliver presentations, facilitate discussions and possess strong communication skills.
  • Able to identify and build connections quickly, with the right customer stakeholders, to drive consensus; work cooperatively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders for deal success
  • Have experience in proactive development of a customer portfolio to maximise business opportunities and value. Ultimately responsible for all aspects of the end to end processes associated with their portfolio.
  • Manage own pipeline of opportunity, seek to explore opportunities to replenish and renew business to ensure portfolio growth.
  • Understanding of energy wholesale markets and risk management methodologies, or capacity to learn these quickly. Achieve targets related to the sale of structured electricity supply contracts and valueadding products and services by growing new and existing accounts.
  • Use insight and consultative selling techniques to offer unique perspectives on the customer's business and industry.
  • Display strong leadership qualities and act as an ambassador for the EDF organisation.
  • Keep up to date on the B2B electricity industry, business and market drivers. Have clear accountability of customer requirements to enable the bus
