In partnership with schools in our local communities, we are proud to launch our National Teaching Assistant Programme, designed to support those who want to start a Teaching Assistant career.

You do not need any qualifications or relevant experience, but you must have a interest in SEND.


About the role:

Are you passionate and enthusiastic about supporting young people with barriers to learning?


Vision for Education have both a part-time and full-time opportunity for an Learning Support Assistant to work in a SEND setting within the Hereford area.


As an Learning Support Assistant, you will have a caring and patient manner, and will be expected to meet the needs of pupils with Autism, Moderate Learning Difficulties, and other associated needs including Social, Emotional and Mental Health within classes and on a 1:1 intervention basis.


You will be working with young adults on a 1:1 basis and so the ability to build positive relationships is required.


About the school:


Working alongside our client schools, we will provide the successful Trainee Teaching Assistant with high quality training and paid on the job experience.


Following a successful interview and pending suitability, safeguarding and identity checks, we will work to secure you a paid placement in a school to further develop your skills.

You will be supported in deciding whether you'd prefer to work in primary, secondary or SEND provisions and will receive ongoing support from a dedicated consultant.


Prior to starting your placement, you will be required to complete a training programme delivered by Vision for Education and school leaders, which will give you the essential skills you need to work as a Teaching Assistant.


Requirements:

To be considered for the role of Learning Support Assistant you will:

  • Understands the needs of students with learning difficulties.
  • Be resilient and able to meet demands of a challenging highpressured environment and deal with emergencies when required.
  • Be reliable in both attendance and punctuality.

All staff we register will undertake thorough interviewing and referencing checks and hold, or be prepared to undergo, an Enhanced DBS check that must be registered on the Update Service.
