An exciting opportunity has arisen at Nottingham University Hospitals for a permanent Band 3 Physiotherapy Assistant to join a well-established physiotherapy team at the Queens Medical Centre.
We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and dynamic individual who is passionate about providing rehabilitation in the acute hospital environment.
You will contribute to the wider physiotherapy team by ordering equipment, recording activity data and completing admin tasks such as community rehabilitation referrals.

Core responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assessing and treating mobility patients
Progressing patients mobility
Issuing walking aids as deemed appropriate
Undertaking exercise programmes with patients
Working as part of the multidisciplinary team
Participating in discharge decision making
Working within scope of practice and escalate concerns or complex patients to qualified physiotherapist
Attending and participating in team teachings

The Physiotherapy service is part of the Therapies and Rehabilitation Services pathway, which is one of the pathways that together make up the Clinical Support Division at NUH.
We are a diverse pathway of AHPs and support staff, employing over 600 staff, who works together to deliver the high quality care we aspire to.
Our HCPC registered AHP professionals comprise of physiotherapists, dietitians, occupational therapists, orthotists, prosthetists and speech and language therapists.We have a Chief AHP to lead us on our strategic direction, and many of the pathway leadership team have pathway AHP backgrounds to support our staff.

Training & Qualifications
Essential criteria
- GCSE (A-C) or equivalent in English and Mathematics
- Previous experience as a Physiotherapy or Health / Rehab Care Assistant
Essential criteria
- Previous experience working in the NHS or care setting
- Ability to effectively manage own case/work load, with support
- Previous experience as a therapy or rehab assistant
Essential criteria
- Effective written, verbal and listening communication skills
- Demonstrate experience working in public settings, with people of different backgrounds

- Ability to organise and prioritise a delegated workload

- Basic keyboard skills
