Overview:

Key Responsibilities:_


  • Phlebotomy Services:_
  • Perform venepuncture and collect blood samples from patients following established protocols.
  • Ensure proper labeling and handling of specimens.
  • Maintain accurate records of blood draws and submit samples to the laboratory promptly.
  • Patient Care:_
  • Assist with patient assessments, including recording vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates).
  • Provide support during minor surgical procedures and dressings.
  • Assist with routine health checks and screenings, such as ECGs and spirometry.
  • Clinical Support:_
  • Prepare and maintain clinical areas, ensuring cleanliness and adherence to infection control protocols.
  • Assist healthcare professionals with patient examinations and treatments.
  • Provide basic wound care and first aid.
  • Administrative Duties:_
  • Maintain patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Schedule appointments and manage patient flow within the practice.
  • Assist with the preparation of medical reports and correspondence.
  • Health Promotion:_
  • Provide patients with information on health management, disease prevention, and lifestyle choices.
  • Support initiatives to improve patient adherence to treatment plans.

Qualifications and Experience:


  • Essential:_
  • Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant and/or Phlebotomist.
  • Competence in venepuncture and blood sample collection.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
