Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual with experience of working with children, young people, and families.

We are a team of healthcare professionals who work across South/West Northamptonshire.

We provide care in the community to children with both acute and long-term nursing needs many of whom have complex health conditions, including palliative and end of life care.


The service operates between the hours of 8:00 am and 6.00pm therefore there will be an expectation to be flexible with your work pattern to meet the requirements of the service.


The service does support children and their families during end-of-life and flexibility of work practice to be able to support these times would be desirable.


Note:
Duties donotinclude provision of respite/short break care in the home setting


This unique post provides an ideal opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills in this specialised area of nursing, whilst also participating in the education and training of others.

The post includes working collaboratively and co-operatively with the child's parents/carers, colleagues in health, social care and education. Key elements of the post also include ordering and maintaining stock levels and associated tasks relating to electronic equipment.

You will be undertaking a range of delegated duties both in the community and office-based setting.

It can be physically demanding as we cover South Northamptonshire, and you will be responsible for your own transportation between visits.

The post holder will be responsible for providing clinical support to the Community Children's Nursing Service by undertaking a range of delegated duties both in the community and office based setting.

The post holder will also be responsible for ordering and maintaining stocks levels of consumable items/electronic equipment and co-ordinate deliveries to an appropriate community setting.

Following a period of induction there will be times where you will be working as a lone worker as per Trust guidance.

The Community Children's Nursing Service provides nursing care and teaching to parents/carers of children with both acute and long term nursing needs in the community setting to enable children to be cared for at home.

The post includes working collaboratively and co-operatively with the child's parents/carers, colleagues in health, social care and education.

Working within the multidisciplinary team in the trust Directorate, having good relationships with the families, children and young people.

Maintaining high standards of care at all times.

Liaising with Safeguarding Team, allied healthcare professionals and other inter agency services.
