Description

We are looking for a motivated Senior Pharmacy Assistant to join our current team in this friendly and forward thinking department.

Yeovil District Hospital offers a full range of acute specialities. The Trust is at the forefront of the integrated care agenda through its symphony project.

We have also received government funding for a full electronic healthcare record system (including Pharmacy and ePrescribing), being implemented in 2019/20.

We provide full medicines management and dedicated discharge services throughout the Trust, and to local hospices. Through our commercial contract work with Somerset community services we also supply mental health (including clozapine).

The pharmacy department enjoys excellent IT support from robots, tablets and mobiles.

We have a busy Aseptic Services Unit producing chemotherapy/TPN, and have a significant involvement in the provision of clinical trials.

Our key strengths as a department are that we work hard for each other, and create a positive working environment.

This is underpinned by the Trusts iCARE principals which have now been adopted in a number of NHS Trusts.

The successful applicant will support the Pharmacy Distribution and Stores Team Leader with the effective day to day running of the Pharmacy Distribution.

This will include managing the timely supply of stock medication to YDH inpatient wards and external contracts.

Working hours are 9.00 to 17.30 Monday to Friday with 1 hour unpaid lunch. Weekends are worked on a rotational basis (currently 1 in 8).

A late rota will also be in operation where each member of staff works 9.30 am to 6 pm one day per week.

Part time staff will be considered

Please see attached detailed job description and person specification for main responsibilities of the role and necessary qualifications.
