Description

The Planner will have operational input into the creation of the construction programme during the key stages of the project and will work closely with the commercial team to develop procurement schedule.

Once the project goes live you will take ownership of the construction programme, including regular tracking of progress of performance onsite vs planned.

Recording progress in the As Built Programme, the Planner will also conduct delay analysis and substantiation or act as defence towards any claims.


Responsibilities

  • Strategic development of planning procedures to ensure best practice and robustness, including regional protocol for bid and construction stage planning, programme control and reporting
  • Provide planning support to all regional bids, managing the appraisal and review process to identify programme constraints, statutory and contractual obligations, analyse and manage programme risk, and develop efficient programme and logistics solutions and material in support of bid submissions
  • Support the bid team to achieve commercially attractive tender solutions
  • Coordinate / assist in the preparation and delivery of Client presentations / interview
  • Manage the transfer of programme intelligence from bid to contract stage, including programme assumptions, resource and output calculations, supply
  • Ensure operational programme reporting follows Critical Path Analysis principles and provides analysis and commentary on consumption of programme float
  • Undertake and prepare delay analysis and collation of reports in conjunction with Project Management Teams
  • Building Construction programmes with the scheme Project Manager in line with the relevant Form of Contract
  • Programming updates with the scheme Project Manager & Quantity Surveyor, including Civil Engineer's in line with the relevant Form of Contract including NEC
  • Formal submission of programmes to the Client in line with NEC
  • Chairing programme update meetings for all schemes
  • Working closely with the scheme Project Manager's and Quantity Surveyor's on a daily basis or as required

Skills required:


  • Experience in Microsoft Project and ASTA
  • An excellent knowledge of all forms of Building and Civil Engineering Contracts, managing time & programme
  • A minimum of 5+ years' experience in the industry
