The post-holder will be responsible for co-coordinating and supporting the secretarial work of the Gastroenterology Service.

This will include full secretarial and administrative duties, dealing with day to day queries within the department, where there may be need to exercise appropriate judgement; responding to patients, nursing staff, GPs and medical staff queries in an appropriate and sensitive manner via telephone or face to face.


The post holder will act as a point of contact for the service and will liaise with all members of the multi-disciplinary team on various aspect of the patients care.

The post holder will be required to manage their own workload and therefore act independently.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Gastroenterology team.

Gastroenterology is a busy, exciting department constantly developing and improving the service provided to patients.

We are looking to engage an experienced Support Secretary with sound secretarial and excellent typing skills to join our friendly team and take on this busy and varied post.


The successful applicant will become an integral part of the efficient Singleton/Morriston team providing secretarial support to a number of clinical staff.


A sound knowledge of medical terminology and experience in the use of hospital IT systems would be an advantage as well as an understanding of patient pathways.

It is preferable that applicants have recent previous experience within a comparable role.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
