We are currently looking for a CNC Semi-skilled Buddy who will be Operating CNC lathe's whilst ensuring procedures and manufacturing process is followed correctly.

The CNC Semi-skilled Buddy's role is to load, run and measure components which are being machined to a precise size and surface finish.


In addition to the tasks detailed in the job description, the operator may be asked to perform additional tasks which are not noted in this document that the Team Leader will deem fit.

The CNC Semi-skilled Buddy reports to the Team Leader and Machine shop Supervisor.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Adhere to all safe working practices.
  • Machine components in line with the M.I.S (Machining Instruction Sheet).
  • Manufacture precision components
  • Read and understand engineering drawings, tolerances/surface finish etc.
  • Ensure "first off" checks are carried out on every operation to establish a standardised "right first time" culture, all scrap to be recorded immediately recording findings and signing appropriate paperwork.
  • Ensure all relevant paperwork is signed & scan "on & off" when starting & finishing jobs.
  • Ability to work alone or as part of a team.
  • Must show flexibility in both shift pattern working and prepared to work overtime as and when required by the Management Team.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Good Health and Safety principles
  • Strong teamwork skills.
  • Able to use / read measuring equipment (Micrometer, Vernier, Etc)
  • Capable of reading engineering diagrams (Training will be given but understanding of the basic principles is essential)
  • Good IT and communication skills.
The role requires an individual who is prepared to take ownership and be accountable for the manufacturing process. A flexible can-do attitude is essential in this demanding role.

Shift Pattern:
Mornings, Afternoons and Nights currently; however, expectation is to be flexible and be willing to work overtime.


Shift Pattern: 39 hours per week, rate of pay £11.85 p/h

£11.85 per hour
