About The Role:


Reporting directly to the Head of Legal, you will lead a team providing excellent legal support and advice to the Fund and its shared service clients to ensure effective management of legal risk and the appropriate exercise of the Fund's statutory requirements and legal rights.

This position is a 12 month fixed term, maternity cover contract.


You will play a pivotal role in delivering the Fund's most complex work to deliver its strategic objectives, and will drive a culture that coaches, inspires and empowers your colleagues.

You will enable continuous improvement and you will use your people skills to build and nurture relationships with stakeholders and understand their needs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of 5 providing excellent support and advice to the Fund about compliance with statutory and regulatory frameworks in order to ensure effective risk management and exercise of legal rights.
  • Act as a key project team member on legal and/or compliance projects with high value/risk/complexity to ensure timely delivery.
  • Ensure continuous improvement by developing and maintaining user friendly policies, guidance documents and processes.
  • Building excellent relationships with leaders across the Fund and shared service clients so that Legal are regarded as a valued business partner and engaged at an early stage in changes and new initiatives.
  • Champion and raise awareness of legal risks and compliance through training and communication at all organisational levels.
  • Support the Head of Legal Services in delivering the team's local operational plan to ensure a consistent high quality service is delivered to both internal and shared service clients.
  • Use your leadership skills to inspire, encourage and develop your team to ensure high levels of engagement.

Key Attributes/Core Skills required

Essential Criteria

  • UK qualified solicitor, barrister or equivalent
  • At least seven years' relevant experience
  • Experience of managing change in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent commercial acumen, judgment in a public law context and negotiation/communication skills

Desirable Criteria

  • Demonstrate selfawareness, emotional intelligence and a willingness to learn and adapt to existing systems and processes
  • Be resilient, confident, cope with changing demands and support others to do this in a positive manner
  • Be proactive, willingly accountable and engaged for delivery across a business area and the Fund
  • Valuesdriven and passionate about the Fund's purpose

Contract:12 month fixed term, maternity cover (until 15th August 2024)

  • Cefnogi Pennaeth y Gwasanaethau Cyfreithiol i gyflawni cynllun gweithredol lleol y tîm i sicrhau bod gwasanaeth cyson o ansawdd uchel yn cael ei ddarparu i gleientiaid mew
