Overview:


The role will be responsible for carrying out all aspects of facilities management for the Gateway building under the direction of the Building Manager and may be required to work at other locations across the County, you will also be required to work outside of core hours, including working late to support the building and meetings, dependent on the service need.

We manage designated Corporate and associated sites across the county, to ensure there is suitable provision of facilities management services to sites.

We provide efficient and effective day to day management of premises and facilities and support the wider community use of sites.

We make recommendations for improvements to the premises. We promote a positive health and safety culture in the workplace.


The Facilities Management Team is a supportive team who strive to ensure everyone is dealt with in a professional and fair manner.

We are based across County and routinely share our expertise, knowledge, skills and experience to ensure continual improvement.


About the role:

You will be required to work in the Gateway offices as the role supports the FM team's operation at The Gateway, and the duties will include:

  • Be alert as to the general security of the premises, smart in appearance and courteous, helpful, and informed. The post will involve contact with staff, members of the Public, 3rd party organisations and Councillors.
  • Assist with compliance activities in terms of updating first aid kits and health and safety signage. Take on fire marshal duties and assist with building evacuations, both at the time and with planning and incident reports. Carry out Statutory Compliance duties as directed. Report any serious health and safety concerns to line manager.
  • Provide technical assistance in setting up the Council Chambers, Committee Rooms and other rooms for meetings and events detailed within the Meeting Room Booking System.
  • Assist with dealing with room booking enquiries and finding space for meetings
  • Assist with ceremonial duties, including raising and striking the flag.

Any-Desk:


As an 'any-desk' worker, you'll need to be connected to our network to access digital folders and resources, but this can either be from home or an office location when required.

You will be required to work from the office a couple of times a week, depending on your role and team requirements.


About you:


If you are methodical, organised and really want to go that extra mile to ensure that customers receive a great quality service this role is for you.

It would be beneficial if you had experience of working AV equipment and microphones for meetings.

You need to have general property experience preferably in Facilities Management

You need to have experience of working as part of a team.


Good communication skills are essential as the post holder will be required to liaise with Customers and Clients on a daily basis.
