Are you an immediately available Head of Commercial with experience in planning, developing, and implementing commercial strategies for large, matrixed energy businesses? LHH is recruiting a Head of Commercial on a 6-month day-rate contract, paying £1100 to £1300/day for a renowned energy services company.


Responsible for the management of 4 to 8 direct reports, you will lead on developing and implementing a commercial strategy to maximise business value and minimise financial risk whilst balancing customer product growth.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Work with your commercial team and colleagues cross corporate functions to spearhead the transformation to a dataled, high performing and empowered function.
  • Create and deliver a commercial strategy that combines marketleading pricing and a datafocussed product mix including energy analytics, riskmanaged tariffs, energy efficiency and carbon offsetting.
  • Own and improve the business intelligence and management suite to help drive performance across sales channels.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to create detailed business plans on commercial opportunities
  • Forecast and manage P&L performance and expectations alongside the finance team and work with finance to forward plan for future product launches and development.

Skills and Experience:


  • Extensive experience in the energy or utilities market and proven understanding of revenue and margin is made, hedged and lost in a complex and turbulent market.
  • Experience leading, guiding and supporting teams through change with a focus on data and digitally led transformations.
  • Excellent people manager with the communication skills to inspire reports.
  • Excellent commercial mindset and awareness of how your decisions impact on the wider business.
  • Highly analytical mindset and experience working with data and analytics teams to drive performance and decision making.
