About Us:

Gallagher Risk Management Solutions is a vital part of UK Retail, comprising a team of risk management practitioners spread across the country.

Specialising in operational risk support, we are dedicated to delivering revenue to branches while providing valuable additional services.


Your Role:

As a Valuation Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in delivering comprehensive valuation services to our customers, adhering to RICS standards for both commercial and residential properties.


Responsibilities:


  • Conducting valuations in accordance with RICS standards, covering mainly Rebuild Cost Assessment.
  • Preparing and presenting property reports, business cases, and statements of need with accurate measurements of sites and premises.
  • Visiting sites and identifying various constructions of property and how this influences Rebuild Cost Assessments.
  • Writing detailed reports for purposes of providing clients with accurate Rebuild Cost Assessments.
  • Writing and submitting proposals to insurers on behalf of clients to secure efficient insurance solutions.
  • Communicating with internal and external clients to secure work.
  • Delivering inhouse or client training sessions.

Qualifications:

  • Registered as an RICS valuer with uptodate accreditation achieved through undergraduate, postgraduate, or vocational courses.
  • Maintaining RICS valuer status (Level 3) in compliance with the Red Book and RICS CPD requirements.
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, preferably to a certified standard.
  • Relevant experience in commercial and residential valuation surveying.
  • Ability to produce reports suitable for clients' multipurpose needs, demonstrating due diligence and adequacy in sum insured.
  • Ability to do research and create a professional RICS compliant report.
  • Detailed understanding of regulations and guidelines applicable to different client types.
  • Ability to transfer knowledge through oneonone or group training sessions.

Additional Requirements:


  • Understanding of the difference between market and building valuations.
  • Knowledge of building materials and construction for appropriate rebuild assessments.
  • Collect information and assess building construction materials and ensure accuracy in measurements for all types of buildings.
  • Understand the cost implications of different locations and construction materials.
  • Excellent communication and organising skills for both internal and external interactions.
  • Strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel for inspections.
  • Ability to conduct independent research and build professional RICScompliant reports.
  • Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail in information collection and assessment of construction materials.
  • Familiarity with planning policy for rebuilding older properties in acceptable materials.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
