Impact Mentor:
The Role

As an Impact Mentor you'll be directly and positively impacting the lives of young people. Our Mentors are responsible for developing and delivering our Shinning Light Programme to a range of pupils. Following a structured social and emotional resilience curriculum via direct mentoring, group mentoring, and larger class-based delivery.

Our mentors address issues that are preventing the pupils from achieving their full potential. They shall confidently work with their mentees weekly and alternatively deliver whole class sessions around various learning themes.


The main objectives and responsibilities of the role are to:

  • Develop and deliver the Shining light programme.
  • Work 121 with pupils with the aim to increase the pupil's readiness to learn and boost attainment within school.
  • Create longlasting positive change in pupils, shown through an improvement in schoolbased learning tracking.
  • Manage key relationships with schools and staff.
  • Provide half termly reports of findings and pupil progress.
  • Work closely with the Mentor Manager to regularly assess and develop your skills, ensuring focus on personal development.
  • Determine ways in which we can develop and improve the delivery and the business services.

About You

  • Experience having worked with young people, especially challenging young people (essential)

  • Ability to connect and relate to young people (essential)

  • Ability to manage change and to adapt to unexpected demands and resilience to working in challenging environments (essential)

  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (essential)
  • Ability to work with a diverse range of individuals (essential)
  • Written skills proven ability to use clear, concise language specific for the purpose and audience (essential)
  • Admin skills an ability to complete admin requirements to a high standard including the use of Microsoft Office (essential)
  • Willingness to travel up to 60 minutes to programme locations and access to your own mode of transport (essential)
  • Related teaching or mentoring qualifications (desirable)
  • Knowledge of relevant policies including safeguarding, health and safety, data protection, etc (desirable)
  • Experience of working in the school environment (desirable)
  • Knowledge of sports delivery (desirable)
  • Willing to undertake further training for personal development (desirable)

Job Types:
Full-time, Fixed term contract

Contract length: 12 months


Salary:
£9.50-£10.00 per hour


Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Supplemental pay types:

  • Performance bonus
