Description
1 x working supervisor (mechanical bias) is required asap for a prestigious, long-term project in Edinburgh.

Works are scheduled for the recording and surveying of components and fittings - iron floor grills, gutters, walkways, windows - followed by removal from site, mechanical repairs in situ on-site, or off-site for full repair, refurbishment and final re-fit.

Applicants are required to have a strong mechanical fitting background whilst heritage experience is beneficial.

Duties include:


Implement and deliver RAMS, toolbox talks and meetings as required on a daily basis to ensure the safety of all trades.

Monitor all site safety and seek ways to improve site safety. Develop a working relationship with the in-house safety team, address/action improvements where necessary.
Ensure works follow the client's specification at all times, highlight issues to the project engineer as problems arise.

Monitor working methods and where possible implement ways to improve systems and techniques to ensure good working practices are maintained.

Ensure that the scope of work is understood and followed by working supervisors on site and inspect quality during works and upon completion for adequate completion
Keep all new fixings required under control and issue inline with the register, amend and update during programme

As first point of contact for client team on-site maintain a good working relationship with the client team and other trades, and address issues accordingly.

Supervise the site labour force, lead by example and muck in as required.
SSSTS or SMSTS required as a minimum, plus relevant and proven experience.
Other requirements are excellent motivational and communication skills across all levels from site labour to end client.

Applicants must also be well-presented, flexible with initiative and the desire to work hands-on to help deliver a project within programmeand budget.
