The Role:


  • We are looking for an outstanding Assistant Principal to be able to lead on the continual development and enhancement of our academy; someone with both the theoretical and practical expertise; as well as a track record of improving standards in their across the school.
  • The Assistant Principal will take the lead in a given area (for example SEND/Inclusion/Curriculum/T&L/Assessment), under the direction of the Principal and will take a major role in driving forward the collective vision, aims and objectives of the school with all stakeholders.


We seek an outstanding and innovative Assistant Principal with the ability to be a role model, build teams, and empower others.

We are looking for someone who is committed to securing high standards of learning and teaching to raise academic achievement and committed to ensuring exceptional standards for teaching and learning practices.

You will be responsible for leading on aspects of Academy improvement.

You will be an outstanding practitioner, and a strong leader of people and teams, who will look to you for outstanding line management, support, and challenge.


  • To support the Principal in transforming leadership at all levels of the Academy
  • To promote the Academy's vision and aims, developing and implementing policy, and monitoring and evaluating progress
  • To be a role model to all staff and students demonstrating positive leadership behaviours, confidentiality and discretion
  • To be a line manager who is approachable and who develops others by supporting and challenging them to be the best they can be
  • Academy documentation
  • Academy resources, (including policy work and monitoring)
  • Use of Knowledge Organisers to build long term memory
  • Strategies and resources to support learning and inclusion
  • To promote the effective safeguarding practices and culture
