Salary:
Circa £11,628 - £18,472
+ a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing. Salary upon finishing the apprenticeship programme circa £25,703

What is the Role?
We have upcoming apprenticeship opportunities in our Distribution business for a
Utility Arborist Tree Cutter Apprentice.

This field-based role means you will be required to travel and work outside in all weathers at all times of day and night as you will be an integral part of the team who ensure tree and vegetation near our distribution network is maintained.

The
Arborist Tree Cutter is part of a highly skilled team that works at height.

You will use your newly acquired knowledge and practical skills to make sure that trees and vegetation are kept away from overhead lines and equipment.

Working with safety at the forefront of all activities, you will work with your team to evaluate, prepare and carry out tree cutting works on a variety of sites.


The apprenticeship can take 2 to 2.5 years depending on your programme and is centred on
work-based learning, training linked directly to the job and academic study at College.

By the end of the programme you'll have gained valuable on-the job experience, learned new skills and gained an industry recognised qualification, enabling you to have the opportunity to build a rewarding and successful career in the energy sector and contributing to the delivery of NETZERO.

Our apprentices attend college and our internal training school on a block release arrangement.

This can be for several weeks at a time, and you should be prepared to live away from home for short periods.

During this time you will be fully support and travel and accommodation will be organised on your behalf.


What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to:

  • Be able to demonstrate an ability to use your initiative, be resilient to the continual changes within our sector and always focussed on delivering great results.
  • You'll have a thirst for knowledge and be able to pick up new skills quickly, working with others to achieve common goals and adjusting your behaviour to reflect the diversity of our workforce and customer base.
  • Naturally, you'll have a focus on safety and will adhere to our company motto "if it's not safe, we don't do it."
  • All of these roles will require you to work outside in all weather conditions, demonstrating a hands on approach to keep the lights on for our customers.
  • You will be required to have at least 3 GCSE's or above, preferably in English and Maths.
