**Senior Controls Software Engineer- Bedfordshire / Remote working £ Temp to Perm

This innovative solution is attracting huge interest as an environmentally positive and practical solution to future emissions legislation. The companyis now running prototype hardware and has wellfunded and ambitious plans to rapidly industrialise the technology.
As Senior Controls Software Engineer - You will be required to
- Hold technical responsibility for developing software functions and testing processes identified by our requirements and functional designs (Simulink tools)
- Work with suppliers where required to support software development activities
- Support the development of control system test and development tools, such as our Speedgoat HiL rig and various other small test rigs
- Provide software development support to the rest of the team for small custom electronics hardware as required (Simulink or C/C++ on development boards)
- Support the engine testing and calibration team with their use of the control system and any required debugging and faultfinding
- Support the rest of the controls team to overcome challenges that might require novel or custom embedded solutions to overcome
As Senior Controls Software Engineer - You will
- Be fluent in Simulink/Stateflow development for embedded coder targets.
- Have a sound understanding of CAN/J1939/CCP/XCP protocols and be familiar with typical development tools (e.g., INCA, ATI Vision, Canape, Canalyzer, Busmaster, etc)
- Use daytoday software versioning systems (CVS, SVN, git, etc)
- Experience of Mathworks tools
- System Composer, Simulink Requirements, Simulink Test, Simulink Realtime (previously Realtime Workshop RTW).
- Experience of test data postprocessing using standard engineering tools (Matlab, AVL Concerto, Minitab, Python, etc)
- Familiarity with both Windows and Linux, with understanding of VMware and computer networking
- Experience of using CI tools to automate software testing (Jenkins, etc)
- Basic understanding of typical sensors, actuators and interface signalling types of devices used in both test and development and production combustion engines
