We are currently seeking an experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant to work in a Secondary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Islington.

The role involves supporting 14-19 year old students who have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the classroom teacher in delivering high-quality education to students with SEMH needs.

You will be expected to work one-to-one with students who require additional assistance, helpingthem to overcome any barriers to their learning and supporting them with their social, emotional, and mental health needs.

Responsibilities:

Support the classroom teacher in delivering highquality education to students with SEMH needs.
Provide onetoone support to students who require additional assistance.
Implement and monitor individual education plans (IEPs) for students with SEMH needs.
Support students with their social, emotional, and mental health needs.
Promote positive behaviour and attitudes among students, acting as a positive role model.
Support the wider school community, including parents/carers and other professionals.

Requirements:

Experience of working with young people with SEMH.
Good understanding of SEMH needs and strategies to support these needs.
Strong behaviour management skills.
Excellent communication skills.
A positive and enthusiastic attitude towards supporting young people with SEMH.
Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.

Hold previous experience working within SEND
Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible
