The team
The Marcomms team is a core part of the Marketing Services function and is responsible for delivering content across most Specsavers Marketing channels, including Broadcast (mainly TV, radio, press and OOH), In store Marketing and Point of Sale (POS), Digital Marketing, Recruitment marketing and Local & Regional Marketing for the UK/ROI and Spanish markets.
Your purpose
Reporting to the Marketing Services Director, the Head of Marketing Communications (Marcomms) will manage a large team of experienced, extremely talented Marketeers and work with our business stakeholders, agencies and other specialist teams within the Marketing function.
You will lead the production and optimisation of content including the Broadcast & Stores team (responsible for end-to-end delivery of TV, press, OOH and Radio as well as instore POS and general collateral), Digital Marketing (including Display and Paid Social), Local Marketing and Recruitment Marketing.
Your role
In addition to the above, you'll be responsible for:
- The setting up and management of significant marketing production budgets across on and offline channels, ensuring all production is on time and in budget and that money is spent wisely
- Leading the team responsible for taking forward a business brief (defined by the Marketing Strategy team) and turning it into a customer facing proposition across multiple channels to align on key campaign and "always on" messages across Marketing awareness, consideration, and trading
- Manage the team's "Creative Lead" who ensures all creative is optimal and consistent
- Taking the lead on defining and developing the instore marketing proposition which will lead the charge on defining the messaging strategy for instore and potentially working with specialists.
What you'll bring
- Extensive demonstrable experience in a senior marketing role, in particular brand and retail marketing
- Ability to manage and work across large teams, including remote workers and across various locations (Guernsey and UK)
- Excellent stakeholder and relationship management skills
- Strong commercial acumen, ability to manage budgets and report on return on investment whilst looking for spend efficiencies
- A growth mindset and creative thinking.
