Job description:

Reserve Forces and Cadets Associations (RFCA) is embedded in the South West Region but provides support UK wide.

Supporting the Customer in the areas of strategy and planning by managing the RFCAs aggregated programme of work, including assessing policy, stewardship and strategic asset management.

At the forefront of Customer Delivery, the SW & RFCA Team will focus on procurement, assurance of estate delivery and asset management.

This is an opportunity for an enthusiastic and hard-working individual in a key role which requires an ability to deal with sensitive matters and handle the expectations of customers; an exciting role with wide ranging requirements and plenty to engage your interest


This role provides management of and support to, the outputs of the RFCA team and wider Regional Support Team; ensuring operation within a coherent and consistent governance framework which uses the right data, produced from the right source and shared effectively; to maximise the authority and accountability across the organisation and stakeholders.

Person specification:


Main Responsibilities

  • Supporting the RFCA Manager, acting as a conduit across the SW Region, DIO, MOD and Civil Service initiatives.
  • Maintaining a collaborative relationship between DIO and the Volunteer Estate stakeholders.
  • Manage process and governance for secretariat issues.
  • Enabling and ensuring adherence and conformity with all agreed DIO processes and operating procedures for the team and advising the customer of good practices.
  • Providing corporate governance functions for RD SW & RFCA including business continuity and secretariat taskings. Supporting effective risk management to develop and enhance knowledge, sharing good practice both within RD SW&RFCA and across wider DIO.
  • Develop and improve the quality of DIO Data and Information holding, getting the right information to the right people at the right time.

Desirable Experience & Skills

  • Full UK Driving Licence.
