Contract: 6-Months

Remote working available

Technical Accountant to be the lead on the forthcoming year end including Capital, Collection Fund and preparation of the Statement of Accounts.

The Finance team are well experienced and will support but do not have the requisite skills.

The role can be fulltime or part time and there can be flexibility on days and hours worked at home and in the office.

Job Purpose:

Co-ordinate and monitor the overall capital/revenue budget to the agreed deadline
Development of Medium Term Financial Forecast for budget process and analytical review/production of technical aspects
Provide leadership and management in team
Develop and mentor team members
Provide technical advice to all levels of stakeholder
Production of statutory accounts within 2 months of year end

Experience Required:

A full professional qualification (CCAB) or under exceptional circumstances a demonstration of substantial experience at a senior level in a finance environment but is not formally qualified
Up-to-date, broad technical knowledge of Local authority finance and its legislative framework
Technical knowledge and experience of interpreting and analysing detailed budget information and guidance issues
Experience of managing and developing staff
Knowledge and experience of preparing final accounts including robust working papers, to agreed deadlines
Knowledge and experience of preparing Annual budgets and the MTFF to agreed deadlines
