Looking for a new role where you can make a difference every day? We're looking for a kind, compassionate and resilient Mental Health Support Worker to join our Mental Health Service in Tower Hamlets.

£23,019.00 per annum, working 40 hours per week, plus Annual Leave pro rata, Pension schemes, staff discounts, healthcare and career progression.

Shift patterns: 8.30am to 3.00pm/ 3.00pm pm. Working any 5/7 days.

We're looking for a Mental Health Support Worker to join our Mental Health Service.


As a Mental Health Support Worker you will provide support to customers to help them develop the life skills that they require to meet the assessed needs of the customers of the service.

In some services, this will include providing physical, domestic, emotional, and social care.

They will work with customers to promote social inclusion and alongside other members of the team and external agencies to promote independent living, encouraging customers to maximise their skills and choices.

You will have a caseload of customers, for which they are responsible, normally customers.

  • If a need arises, deliver all aspects of support to enable a customer to develop independent living skills as appropriate to the individual needs of the customer. In some services, this will include delivering personal and physical care as appropriate.
  • Support customers to undertake all domestic tasks wherever possible, including practical assistance where they have not yet developed the skills, to ensure customers enjoy a high quality of accommodation.
  • Participate in the support planning and risk management, as facilitated by the lead Support Worker.

Essential:


  • Up to NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent or some experience in the social care/charity sector.
  • Some experience working in mental health settings.

Desirable:


  • Experience working customers with dual diagnosis and substance misuse.

Job Overview:


You will be working independently visiting people in their home, this role is not in a service, so you need to be confident in managing your own time.

You will need to schedule and manage visits and you must have a session at least every 3 weeks with the customers.

You are also expected to be involved in a Duty system and drop in system, as well as your own workload.

You will receive a corporate induction when you start, and the 2nd week is the local induction with the team leader where you will begin shadowing staff.


The most rewarding parts of this role is helping the customer to meet their goals, you'll be working with them for 7 1⁄2 months, so it's very fast paced, but is good when you get to see the outcomes and the sense of achievement.

It can be quite challenging managing customer visits and being out and completing the role. There are targets to meet and it can be very down to the wire Meeting the targets and completely. If you are goal orientated and enjoy ticking things off, this is the role for you.

You also need to be able to manage your stress levels, you need to be calm, resilient and have the ability to look for the solutions.
