We have a fantastic brand new opportunity to join the Communities Team asPlacemaking Lead on a permanent basis.
You'll be based from any of our locations, with offices in Bristol, Christchurch, Exeter, Newbury and Basingstoke, we can be flexible with your preferred office.
In the longer term, there may be some travel required between our offices and sites so you should have access to transport and be happy to travel.
The role will combine both home and office working to ensure a positive work/life balance.The Role
You will support the Community Investment and Partnership Manager in the creating and delivering a placemaking approach that implements the aims of Thriving Communities and Home and Place Standard on new developments.
The role will influence the inception of large-scale joint venture and s106 schemes, ensuring the right level of investment and thought into community development, community infrastructure, giving insight on management models such as Community Land Trusts to ensure long term sustainable placemaking.
- Develop and implement Sovereign's approach to long term placemaking
- Establish an approach with the Social Impact Manager that will measure the social impact of placemaking activity
- Ensure Community Investment is factored into decision making around the design of new development and communal spaces and facilities
- Coordinate Community Investment programmes that could be part of joint venture and S106 sites with a particular focus on larger and land led developments
- Embed a placemaking and joint working approach across different localities
- Responsible for data related to Community Investment and social impact
- To prepare and present written, financial, and statistical reports to internal and external bodies as required
- Work closely with the Communications team to communicate the range and impact of the placemaking approach and how it contributes to Thriving Communities
What we need from you
The successful applicant will have experience and expertise in the Community Investment or placemaking gained from working in a similar role.
You will be responsible for maintaining high data quality in our Community Investment data sources and knowledge of this will be essential.
You'll also have:
- Proven track record of positive stakeholder engagement and relationship management
- Relevant experience of and a strong commitment to collaborate with colleagues and external stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written, organisational and project management knowledge
- Experience of quality assurance of projects including monitoring and evaluation systems
- Confident with budget management and financial systems
- IT literate and able to use technology for effective project delivery
- Knowledge of methods to monitor the quality of data and identify issues
