The Day Surgery Unit is part of the new Ambulatory Care Division at NUH. We are looking to recruit a Theatre Support Workers to be part of the supportive team. We are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic, confident, self motivated and possess good communication skills.

Main duties of the job

  • Carry out a number of designated tasks which will involve direct patient care, in support of and with supervision of a registered practitioner.
  • Work as an effective member of the Multidisciplinary team
  • Following a supervised and supernumerary induction you will undertake clinical and non clinical duties.
  • You will work alongside registered and non registered colleagues in all the different areas of the Day Surgery Unit including: Theatres, Recovery, Ward and Pain Clinic.

  • Experience of delivering care to patients in a care/ hospital settings
Desirable criteria

  • Experience of delivering care to patients in a Theatre/DSU environment

Skills:

  • Demonstrate effective written communication skills

  • Demonstrate Computer literacy and use of IT skills eg e mail, Word and Excel

Qualifications:

Essential criteria

  • O level/GSCE or equivalent Mathematics and English
  • Grade C or above

  • NVQ level 2 in Care

Salary:
The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
