What you'll be doing:

Building on our success, a key initiative for the AXA Motor Trade Specialist Unit is to enhance our offering in the market place by introducing Underwriting Assistants, who will work closely with our existing team of experienced underwriters.

You will be the focal point for specific brokers and will own the onboarding of pre-identified business for these brokers.

You will support the underwriters with core underwriting activities across both new and existing business disciplines, which will contribute to the high standards are customers have to come to expect.


To be an Underwriting Assistant in our Motor Trade Speciality Unit Team, you will have a proven track record in delivering excellent customer service.

You may already be working in the insurance industry or just starting out in your career, either way full training will provided to ensure your are successful in the role.

You'll work at least 60% of your week away from home, either at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events.

Please note that you will be present in the office for 4 days a week during the initial training period.

  • Some underwriting experience in a composite insurance environment is preferrable but not essential.
  • Strong numerical and communication skills.
  • Good knowledge of IT systems.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to organise and prioritise workloads to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Desire to study towards professional qualification.


As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
