Job description:

Working as part of the Wildlife Team as an assistant field ecologist, you will be studying for Level 4 Countryside Ranger whilst putting your ecological learning to direct use in the workplace.

Ecology is a wide discipline extending to all the relationships between plants, animals, people, and their environment, and the balances between these relationships.

This is an exciting time to be joining the Civil Service.

The Apprenticeship will take the form of 26 months undertaking the Level 4 Countryside Ranger.

At the same time, you will be working in a team of field ecologists and other analysts in a government department, supported by your line manager.

Your learning will be a mixture of online and face-to-face teaching and assessments.

The department you work in will make any necessary travel arrangements for you to attend in-person events with the University from your office location.

Person specification:

Have a keen and active interest in wildlife and the environment.

Have high standards of written and spoken English and can communicate effectively with all stakeholders including members of the public, landowners and colleagues.
