An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic individual to join the Cardiology team at Manchester Royal Infirmary, part of Manchester Heart Institute (Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust).

This is a 6 month locum post to cover a consultant colleague.


As the leading provider of tertiary and specialist healthcare services in Manchester, the Trust treats more than a million patients every year.

You will be part of a team of 50 Consultant Cardiologists at the Manchester Heart Institute. The Cardiology department is staffed with energetic, forward-looking cardiologists, and we're looking for someone similar to join our team.


The role presents an excellent opportunity to showcase your comprehensive understanding of cardiac care, specifically in General Cardiology, Heart Failure and complex devices.

Informal visits are encouraged and we would welcome your interest.

To deliver excellent heart failure/General Cardiology services, for the population of Greater Manchester and surrounding areas

To contribute to the planning and development of Cardiology services

To support service development

To provide flexible support and develop in reach services across MFT sites

To support teaching and research within the department

To contribute to the complex device service
